FITEL S185PMROF
High-end PM LDF Fusion Splicer featuring Ring of Fire® (ROF)
Though the main body is the same compact design of the S185 series, Ring of Fire® models equip the powerful arc-discharging with three electrodes instead of two electrodes. The FITEL S185PMROF arc-discharging makes the plasma field (high temperature field) wider and enables fusion splicing of large diameter fibers up to 800μm cladding diameter. This unique arc-discharging can heat optical fibers uniformly and reduce the splice loss of the fibers with dissimilar cladding diameters.

- Fibers should be applied to ITU-T standard. In case of other fibers, depending on the type of fiber, the optimization of splice program may be needed or the splice result may not be satisfied.
Due to the high temperature of ROF, it may not be possible depending on the diameter, thickness and material of the coating.
